Blackswan Space completes its first ESA contract

Blackswan Space is pleased to announce that we have successfully completed our first contract with the European Space Agency (ESA) to develop an early version of our simulations software for complex missions – the Mission Design Simulator (MDS). This work was particularly focused on active debris removal applications.

This is a major stepping-stone towards developing a real-time photo-realistic simulations platform that will enable our customers to design space missions requiring navigation including active debris removal, in-orbit servicing and assembly as well as asteroid exploration missions much more efficiently, saving time and costs.

MDS, when ready will integrate all the required functionalities to design, prototype, and test complex space missions in a single software package instead of having to use multiple, combining results afterwards, which not only takes more time but also degrades the accuracy of your solution and introduces potentially very costly errors.

The Blackswan Space team wants to thank the agency’s experts that were involved in sharing their expertise helping us successfully complete the project. We look forward to working together again soon, addressing the most prescient problems in space !
