Mission Design Simulator (MDS) Solaris v.1.1.0 has arrived

Blackswan Space is pleased to announce the release of the Mission Design Simulator v.1.1.0 with freshly minted features like event scheduling, RF link budget simulation and orbital average power.

The full list of new features listed below.

  • Event scheduling. You are now able to plan ahead and schedule pointing or thrust maneuvers based on time, orbital position or geographic location.
  • RF link budget simulation. MDS now supports radio subsystem modelling, including satellite-ground station link budget calculations and custom antenna radiation patterns.
  • Average orbital power. MDS power calculator, in addition to instantaneous solar panel power output, now also calculates the average energy produced per orbit.
  • Star map. The Deep Star Maps 2020 by NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center Scientific Visualization Studio are now visible on the celestial sphere in MDS.
  • Ground station labels can now be turned on.
  • Simulation time can now be changed by UTC date-time input through the UI and API.
  • Improved and updated UI.
  • Updated API.
  • Updated documentation with more examples.
