Blackswan Space Secures €300K ESA Contract to Advance Mission Design Simulator in partnership with Kongsberg NanoAvionics

Blackswan Space is proud to announce the award of a €300,000 contract from the European Space Agency (ESA) to enhance its flagship product, the Mission Design Simulator (MDS). This milestone project will significantly expand MDS capabilities, empowering engineers to design and prototype satellite constellations with unprecedented precision.
The upgraded MDS will introduce advanced features such as:
- Revisit time and ground coverage calculations
- Formation-keeping and maneuver planning
- Integration of external situational awareness feeds to monitor constellation health and assist ground operators in orbit maintenance during operational phases.
As part of this initiative, Blackswan Space is partnering with Kongsberg NanoAvionics, who will contribute as a key development partner and target end user.
Building on MDS’s modular architecture and real-time simulation capabilities, this development will position the platform as a leading solution for constellation mission design and operations support.
