Blackswan Space starts the year with a revamped version of the Mission Design Simulator (MDS)

MDS Solaris user interface screen shot

Over the past 5 years with the help of our global network of partners and early adopters, our team has been working relentlessly to redefine the way future space missions are designed and operated. Today, we wanted to share with you our first commercial version of the Mission Design Simulator (MDS) Solaris – a simulations and mission operations tool for the next generation of spacecraft missions.

Why choose MDS over STK, FreeFlyer, GMAT or some of the other tools you might be using today?

  1. Real-time simulation capabilities: it is not just a fancy orbit propagator where it takes forever to setup your mission parameters and wait for the final results. You can now setup and change your mission parameters on the go and see the results straight away!
  2. Ability to simulate large number of objects in real-time: specifically designed for satellite constellation designers and operators to be able to set up and run mission analysis as well as software in the loop testing for constellation management and operations.
  3. True scale, photo-realistic environment covering the entire solar system so you can model your mission in an environment that does not look like a 90s software graphics. While being kind to your eyes, this also allows you to generate photo-realistic synthetic images and videos for AI training or marketing purposes.
  4. The ability to simulate complex mission scenarios including rendezvous and docking with software and hardware in the loop algorithms that you can run through our easy to use API.

There are way more advantages we could cover here, but we will leave it for later after you have tried MDS for yourself and told us what you think! Go ahead and try free 14-day trial here Mission Design Simulator
